Our (technical)expertise are built upon a foundation of 20 years of experience in the precious metal recycling industry, which saw the continuous refinement of our recycling procedures and significant rises in recovery quotas. Our facilities in Drochow and Lauchhammer process a yearly volume of several hundred tons of material, from which we extract several hundred kilograms of precious metals, like platinum, palladium, gold and silver. As such metals, in their role as high-tech resources, represent essential components not only of catalytic converters in the automobile and chemistry industries but also indispensible elements of electrical products, medical technology and fuel cells, our recycling services contribute significantly to the resource security of developed industries.

Employees of ReMetall Deutschland can draw on over 20 years of experience in metal recycling.
As early as 1996, the then 4-year-old cable recycling precursor venture to ReMetall, began recycling catalytic converters in Drochow, making it one of the first German companies in the business. Extensive knowledge of the market, highly refined methods and leadership through innovation, have since then been the guiding principles of our success.

ENVIRONMENT
A benefit for the environment
It is our belief that rare and expensive resources shouldn’t go to waste.
The recycling of used catalytic converters and renewed usage of the precious metals is economically sensible and good for the environment. Platinum and palladium are perfect examples for this dual benefit concept. Both are primarily used for the production of car catalysts and can be recycled to both conserve resources and protect the environment.
The precious metals at the heart of every exhaust cleaner are considered the most valuable in the world. A mere 170 tons of platinum and 200 tons of palladium are mined as primary resources every year. Close to 10 tons of ore and huge quantities of energy are required to produce a troy ounce worth of high-grade platinum. ReMetall Deutschland gains that amount of material from about 20 Kilograms of used catalysts.
Through the re-usage of the material we reduce the amount of waste and prevent the entry of toxic substances into the environment. Moreover the usage of secondary resources provides supply security, saves energy and reduces emissions.
